The Biodiversity Interdisciplinary Research Community Hub (BIRCH) is a St Andrews University network established in 2023 that brings together researchers from across disciplines, to conduct innovative research in biodiversity. BIRCH is stimulating new interdisciplinary connections and creating new biodiversity knowledge, involving undergraduate student research internships to generate a rich experience for our students. It is only through creative interdisciplinary collaborations that we can address the biodiversity crisis and create a transition toward a sustainable and biodiverse world. From these BIRCH seeds of biodiversity research, we hope networks and ecosystems will grow!
